Education. "An Instructive Or Enlightening Experience."

Why I Went To An HBCU
"As a young Black man in the 21st century an HBCU was the only place for me. It was the only place where I felt success was was expected of me instead of what is reported on the evening news. HBCUs are institutions built to build up the Black community and in a world where there are so many forces trying to tear Us down it is good to know that no matter what there is a place that welcomes you with open arms. As a student at Dillard University I feel that I am getting an education that is just as good (if not better) than any ivy league college (which is twice as expensive). I feel that I am getting a head start on life and the best part about it is I get to experience it with 2,500 other beautiful, intelligent, goal-oriented Black people. I wouldn't trade my HBCU experience for anything in the world."
