Jericho Broadcast Networks

Making Waves in the Multimedia Industry

Remember Roy Eavins? He's the FAMU alum we highlighted back in March 2002 who is makin' waves in the multimedia sector. His company? Jericho Communications Media Group, Inc - home of Jericho Broadcast Network (JBN), the Black College Sports Network, Pyramid Comix, and more much more! We caught up with Roy this month to get the latest on his projects.

If you haven't been listening to V108 Urban Vibe, you don't know what you're missing. It's a great mix of R&B, hip hop, and soul that you can groove to while you're working at the desk all day. We at the HBCU Network love this station. And since we last spoke to Roy, JBN has launched another station under the V108 The Vibe brand name called Gospel Vibes which plays the best in traditional and contemporary gospel music as well as sermons from annointed ministers nationwide. Both stations run 24/7 and have a number of live and recorded shows on topics such as sports, financial planning, and spiritual growth. Be sure to tune in regularly to Urban Vibes or Gospel Vibes by visiting www.JerichoBroadcasting.com and picking your station. According to Roy, there's something for everyone.

Also new is the Jericho Internet Group. The Jericho Internet Group is a collection of websites focused on the Black American market, two internet based radio stations, and two upcoming internet-based television networks which are committed to improving the position of Black Americans. Says Roy, "We are dedicated to becoming the driving force in the dispersal of information to the Black community. The internet is a way to touch people all over the world at the same time. We will be the future of the Black media." The HBCU Network is a proud member of the Jericho Internet Group along with Black America Travel, FloridaBlackFolks.com, HBCU-Central.com, TheBlackChurchPage.com, BlackMenInAmerica.com, and BlackGospelPromo.com.

And if this wasn't enough, the Black College Sports Network will be re-launching this August broadcasting the Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SIAC) and Jackson State University athletic events. The company will be working on obtaining contracts with the other conferences as well as individual universities. And Pyramid Comix is moving beyond the internet and on to TV and video games. Two video games are currently in the works around some of Comix book characters. Also underway is a mini Saturday morning cartoon line up.

And if you're looking for something fun to do on Labor Day Weekend, stay tuned to V108 The Vibe for details on JBN's first "BE OUT!!!" Event in Orlando, FL. Roy promises it will be a great event...BBQ, cultural festival, live music, sports and vendors from all over the country.all for an affordable price. Further details will also be available via HBCUnetwork.com. Thanks to Roy for taking time out of his busy schedule to give us the latest on Jericho Communications Media Group, Inc!
