Progressive Black Men, Inc.

Progressive Black Men, Incorporated is a service organization whose main focus is to eradicate negative
stereotypes placed upon African Americans, especially African American Men. Established on the campus of
Florida State University in 1989, Progressive Black Men, Inc. constantly strives to uphold its principles
which are Academic Excellence, Communal Support, and Fellowship of Brothers.
Progressive Black Men, Inc. has developed Youth Mentoring and Elderly Outreach Programs, as well as
Support Black Business Ventures with local black owned businesses in the African American community.
Collegiate Chapters hold seminars and workshops on our respective campus informing our fellow colleagues of the pressing issues in the Black
Community and most importantly some solutions to resolve them. The fundamental concepts of Progressive Black
Men, Inc. are Collective Knowledge, Collective Effort, and Collective Strength. Since the establishment of our
organization, PBM has produced determined young men eager to make a difference in the lives of their peers,
families, and communities. A man of PBM is a man of integrity, character, distinction, honor, and charity.
Our organization rests on the foundations of academic excellence, fellowship of brothers, and communal
support. We are steadfast in our vision to:
- Mend negative misconceptions of the Black male image
- Promote brotherhood, unity, and peace
- Instill proper education for all people
- Communal Support to those who need a helping hand

Progressive Black Men, Inc. currently has chapters in most of the renowned colleges in Florida such as
Florida State University, Florida A&M University, University of Florida, and University of South Florida.
With the development of the National Council in 2000, Progressive Black Men is currently establishing
Professional Chapters and collegiate chapters outside the state of Florida.
