I agree with you wholeheartedly. For some strange reason we are now of the midset that things done in the past are no longer applicable today. How many of us have older relatives that had long lasting relationships? I bet each and every one of us do. So what's so different?
First thing is that we have so many options and a very weak accountability system. If things go sour you can easily wash your hands of the "problem" and proceed as if nothing ever happened.
I do agree that people move entirely too fast when it comes to getting to know one another. Courting is now looked at as being weak and very elementary. Personally I would rather have a completely innocent relationship with a man while getting to know him, than to throw the wrench of intimacy into what could be a beautiful picture.
I guess that I am just OLD FASHIONED!
