One thing HBCU alums need to realize is that if they want to effect change they have to give back to their alma mater--contribute financially, join and actively participate in an alumni association, help recruit students with strong academic backgrounds. Just like a presidential election, the major players won't listen to people who only complain and don't act--get involved. Contact all your friends from Del State and let them know your concerns. Do something--don't just complain about it. That's what the president and others expect.
