The Go On Girls are a spirited group of sisters who love a good read. With more than 300 members in several cities and states, our mission is to encourage the literary pursuits of people of African descent. In this vain, since 1993, we have bestowed our coveted "Author of the Year" award and our "New Author of the Year" award on such talents as Octavia Butler, Gloria Naylor, Valerie Wilson Wesley and Connie Briscoe, just to name a few.
