Zatzinger follows legacy of Karol Wojtiyla ("Paulll). So, it becomes interesting to examine the historical record of J.P..
Brief Summary of "John Paul II's" Legacy:
Born: Karol Wojtyla on May 18, 1920 in Wadowice, Poland.
In early 1940's, the IG Farben Chemical Company employed Karol who in that employment sold cyanide to the Nazis for use in Auschwitz. Karol as a salesman-chemist also worked in the manufacture of the poison gas. This same cyanide gas was among the stuff used to exterminate millions of persons and groups.

After such adventures during so-called WWII, Karol, fearing for his life, joined the Anglo-Saxon Catholic Church and was ordained its priest in 1946. Karol became Poland's youngest bishop in 1958. Then...
- Became Archbishop of Krakow in 1963.
- Became Cardinal in 1967.
- Elected Pope on October 16, 1978

Enter Ratzinger.
